Anticpated Movies of 2025

There’s a lot coming out next year, some films finally reaching other countries outside the USA and there’s a lot to be excited about. There’s a varying of genres even if the biggest movies will either be remakes, sequels or adaptations. With so many coming out, we wanted to showcase the ones we are most looking forward to!
4) Jurassic World: Rebirth
Set five years after the events of Jurassic World Dominion, the dinosaurs are now inhabiting the remote parts of the equatorial regions. Needing to obtain the genetic material from the three largest dinosaurs, Zora Bennett follows her team into the dinosaur’s new home with palaeontologist Dr Henry Loomis and Ducan Kincaid to find the key to this to save human lives. Any movie from the Jurassic franchise has a strong following, but something feels new and refreshing. Hopefully this movie will live up to expectations.
3) 28 Years Later
The long awaited, third installment, of British post-apocalyptic horror film finally arrives in 2025 (we don’t talk about the second movie) and with acting power-houses like Jodie Comer and Ralph Finnes, it will surely be one of the best horror movies of 2025. Now that the rage virus has mutated, we will see how this has affected humans, but also the infected.
2) Superman
With many DCU films being more miss than hit, there was something promising about James Gunn’s Superman after he promised a brighter story, forgoing the tired trope of “edgy superhero” and wanting to get back to Superman’s roots- hope. David Corenswet takes over the role and looks to be the perfect Clark Kent and man of steel. With the teaser trailer release, it's nice to see a superhero movie that has colour in it and looks to be a promising adaptation.
1) Wicked: For Good
Wicked: For Good will have a time-jump, showing how Oz has transformed and The Wizard has a much greater hold on its citizens. With Glinda now The Wizard’s spokesperson, Fiyero as the captain of the Ozian Guard, there is a man-hunt for Elphaba.. It will still be a story of friendship, but the main focus of Wicked’s second act is the consequences of their actions. Fans of the stage production often criticise the second act and claim it is rushed but with the runtime extended, that will not be a problem for the move. In our opinion, Part 2 has much stronger songs, but we can’t wait to see what changes Jon M. Chu makes.
